WE live in sexually liberated times or do we? While many men and women vociferously deny any issue over a tissue, there’s a parallel trend that’s finding takers — hymen reconstruction. The numbers are small, but growing.

Yes, virginity is auctioned in society. When one knows that there is no base to the issue about the tissue, it is just the fragile to be torn apart by any vigiorous exercise, women really dont need to hide it or have it repaired. It is a strange world out there, one must admit.

Virginity remains a crucial factor in modern society. Among women, it is an identity of being prim and proper.
Hymen serves as a stronghold whether a woman has a self-control over sexual urges. But why do you need to reconstruct it when it is already damaged? Doing so is simply fooling yourself.
Just be open to your partner about it. If his love is true, he will understand your promiscuity.

Reading such news items really make me questions the relevance of women’s movement and organizations.
Even after so many years since world has witnessed people like Virginia Woolf, Simone de Beauvoir, the society has not left its centuries old notion that only importance of women is her sex.
The further embarrassment is the educated women, who hail from well-to-do family. In place of really empowering themselves they prefer to be more like puppets in the hands of men.
Nice heading, hymen will keep on being seen as the modesty of women and her only way of attracting men, hymen-himen.

My opinion says that not for anybody else but virginity is something relative to every women’s own perspective and mindset.It is actually a state of mind when a women feels the pristine purity of chastity and that feeling is obviously something that comes from the head and not just a whether a tissue is in place or not. If someone is truly in loe with somebody then no matter how many times she has slept with men prior to this relation is immaterial, it is how great and commited she feels in this relationship that ,matters, at least i feeel that way!!

‘The guilt has made way for curiosity’ defines this growing trend best. Many would say that we are emulating the west but it is good in a way for then people would atleast have the freedom of doing what they choose and not what they are offered( referring to paid sex).
We still have boys standing at the corner of a street and staring at females, something rarely common in developed countries. Not breaking that deadlock can thus be related to the high number of rape cases in our country. Instead when people talk it over, the options become open and only a target group would indulge amongst themselves, giving the rest a chance to live freely.

Whether Hymen Reconstruction is a foolish act or not depends on the motive of the individual.
As Mandira said ”It gives maximum pleasure to man as well as woman”, well, in such case the woman is NOT foolish but CARING!
But, if the act is carried out with the intention of forcing her chastity upon her man, then it IS a foolish act and the woman is making a FOOL of herself!
BTW, I don’t give a damn to any tissue except one — the one thats a quintessential accessory of a toilet!

if hymen reconstruction is done for mutual pleasure, then it probably has a positive scope. but in our society, it is more likely to be exploited by women who want ”re-virginize” themselved before getting married. they ought to be reminded that a tissue cannot give them back their virginity. It can only fool a partner for a while. If you choose to loose it..choose to do so with grace!

The incidents of sexual harassment are not a rarity. The growing market of pornography proves that women are still seen as an object.The only difference here is that women are not forced to think so high of their chastity, but ABC of sex is also changing that slowly.

I completely agree with the views expressed by Ranita. It is more a feeling, tt is the state of mind. The purity should be measured on the basis of the bonding and commitment, not on the basis of the condition of the tissue.
Surgery can only help replace the tissue, but it can never make them virgin again.
